What is the difference between a 4greenhouses.com account and a Greenhouse Megastore account?
Printer-friendly versionThe easy answer is that they are totally independent accounts and don't really talk with each other. That means you have to log in at each site, or check the "Remember Me" box to have each site automatically log you in when you visit. Yes, it could be a pain, but we have good reasons for doing it this way:
- 4greenhouses.com is the home of the Greenhouse Megastore's community website, and features our Around the Backyard blog and our Greenhouse Experts forum. Additionally, we will be continually developing the social aspect of the site to bring you the ability to customize your profile, make friends, form groups, etc. Eventually you will even have the chance to have your own blog and post your own images, among many other features.
- We have chosen to keep your Greenhouse Megastore and 4greenhouses accounts separate mainly to add another layer of security over your personal information. Since your Megastore account will usually contain credit card and other financial information, any breach into a merged account would compromise that information. Your Megastore account is therefore walled behind high levels of security and encryption to keep it safe. This is not to say that your 4greenhouses account is unsafe; quite the contrary. We do our best to keep all of our customer information safe and are continually working to further secure all of your information. But in the unlikely event your 4greenhouses account is compromised, all of your sensitive financial data is still safe behind our security wall.
- When you register for a Greenhouse Megastore account and then order something on the website while you are logged in, you are able check the status of your order under the My Account button on the Megastore. You must be logged in at the Greenhouse Megastore when placing your order to be able to track it this way. Otherwise, you will need to call customer service in order track your order.
