Greetings from N.C. I have a small green house frame of pvc pipe that my husband and I moved here from a mile down the road ( it was a fun project!) Am thinking of ordering the 6 mil commercial grade 4 year clear to cover it. Any thoughts? I am definetly a novice at this. Last year I sold flowers and perennials in the spring months at our local farmers mkt. I would like to continue and grow my 'business'.

covering

The 6 mil greenhouse plastic works fine. One thing you need to decide is one layer or two? A single covering of plastic will protect your plants from rain, snow, and some bugs but doesn't do much for insulation. If it's 30 degrees outside it will be 30 degrees inslde. If you plan on heating then I suggest a second layer of plastic with a inflation air pump to create an air gap. With a small heater you can raise the temperature on a cold night from 30 to 45 or so. If your planning on germinating seeds that temp makes a huge difference. With the use of a heat mat you can keep the seeding temp at 55 or 60.

Good luck
